In all my travels I have seldom, if ever, been in a place more conducive to creativity… I feel that the ghost of Tyrone Guthrie must be so proud! I shall always be indebted to the Centre, most especially for helping me rediscover the pure joy of being a writer’

Facilities
Artist Studios
There is one artist studio in the Big House and eight studio spaces available for visual artists. Each studio has an easel, tables and a large sink. A small darkroom is fully equipped for black and white photography. All studios are heated and are fitted with full spectrum daylight lighting. One of the studios is designated for artists with disabilities and has an en suite toilet. The amenities of the Centre, including 450 acres of garden, parkland forest, lake, two boats (oars and life jackets) and walking trails, promise even the most diligent and creative artistic worker relaxation and distraction from their toil.
The Music Room
We have a beautiful music room at the back of the house with a Young Chang Grand Piano. Adjacent to it is an acoustic studio equipped with a recording system, leads and cables. Please call or email if you have any specific technical requirements.
Performance Space
Tucked away in the back of the gardens and out of range from the Big House and Cottages is a purpose built performance art studio. It has one mirrored wall and two free standing ballet barres. It also contains a piano generously donated by Phil Coulter.
The Library
The library and drawing room are for everybody’s use. The collection includes the original Annaghmakerrig library with volumes acquired by the Moorhead, Power and Guthrie families over a period of a hundred and fifty years. There is a computer catalogue of the collection in the Library and the Director will be pleased to help with any queries you may have. Apart from the many books there is also an eclectic collection of CD’s and tapes, a video/DVD player, a monitor and an 'everyday' piano (Before playing, check that there is no-one working in the room above). The poetry library is to be found outside Guthrie's Study and books are shelved according to author and/or editor.
